Stain Magazine
The brief was to create a magazine about design. Some images were supplied, while the was supplied and was not to be mortified. To give the magazine a name and create an image and brand that flows through. I chose the name “Stain” with the long “Leave your mark” as a representation of designers leaving their make on the world. The first two pages have the editorial and letter from the editor which are important information so they are laid out simply for readability while having a photograph of the New York City Skyline I took, the city of Design. The next pages of the Contents are also simply laid out for the same reason. The next four pages, the images were supplied and I laid them out in a way that goes with the text being read. The first two being about lettering, therefore making the heading text all about the type, while also displaying the artist work. The next two are about photography, so I gave one solid page to just the images separating the text and images to constant each other. Laying out this magazine highlights the designers work while also being readable and functional and continually to flow as one collected piece of work.
