AGDA Posters
AGDA is the peak national organisation representing the Australian communication design industry. AGDA had three seminars on safety, legal requirements, and intellectual property. The brief was to come up with three posters that all flowed together and followed a theme. I came up with the theme of barbie’s to convey each seminar. As barbie’s are stereotyped as dumb blondes I decided to photograph the barbie in a satire way. For the safety I light the Barbie on fire for the intellectual property I had one barbie stealing another barbie’s jet ski, and for legal requirements I had one barbie throwing another off a cliff. I edited the photos, by saturating them to compliment barbie brand as it is all about positivity. I originally chose a typeface similar to the barbie brand however it was hard to read and too busy. I decided to go with a simple bold font, Arial Bold, while using the same colour palette as the barbie brand. To cooperate the satire image I chose a satirical heading for each poster laying it out over the image to catch attention. The posters work well to display the important information while also being eye-catching and satirical for the passing reader.
